In partnership with College Track, City Year Denver, Denver Center for International Studies, Reach-a-Hand Uganda, and GLI hosts an annual Youth Summit at the Entusi Resort and Retreat Center. The Youth Summit brings high school students from the United States and secondary school students from East Africa together for a three-day conference designed to develop and empower young global leaders.

Students at the Youth Summit spend a weekend together cultivating leadership skills through critical dialogue, guest speakers and facilitated leadership development exercises. In the true spirit of GLI’s mission to listen, think, and then act, after the conference, each student is asked to identify an issue in his or her home community for which these leadership skills can be used to help create improvements.

In three years, the Youth Summit has hosted more than 100 students – half of them from Uganda and students who have never had the opportunity to participate in such a forum. Our goal is to grow this into one of the largest youth summits in East Africa!
