From this survey we hope to be able to provide data informing a plan of outreach through further GLI efforts with trusted groups in the Lake Bunyonyi region to increase the role of parents in formulating their children’s educational success.
Introduction
We hope to get a sense of the current relationship between parents and the education system, as well as their current level of involvement in their students’ educational career. Additionally, our survey attempts to understand any insights or concerns parents may have.
Plan of Action
Our work for the Global Livingston Institute has concluded with the creation of a formal survey to provide to parents in the community in order to ascertain the answers to some important questions. We have drawn up an eleven question survey intended to provide answers about the parenting structure and influence on education within the Lake Bunyonyi region. Each question of our survey is designed to determine how involved parents are in the education of their child, and what parents would like to see changed in order to better their child's education.
