Farmers around Lake Bunyonyi rely on rainfall to water their crops. When the rainfall is not sufficient or it is dry season, the farmers must hand-deliver water from Lake Bunyonyi to their crops.

Lake Bunyonyi, located in Southwestern Uganda, is situated below a vast expanse of hilly terrain. Climate change has made rainfall patterns in the area incredibly unpredictable and thus unreliable for farmers whose livelihood depends on their crops.

Without a doubt, agriculture - farming, forestry, fisheries, and livestock - remains essential to the economic development of the world, generating USD 3.4 trillion in 2018.

This document is to serve as a Process Evaluation Plan for the Global Livingston Institute (GLI) iKnow Concert series in Uganda and Rwanda. Despite previous impact studies, this will be the first time GLI plans to evaluate the concert program using this approach.

The “iKnow” Concert Series first started as a small concert in 2014 hosting 4,000. Astoundingly, by 2019, it had hosted a total of 300,000 while providing additional health benefits; HIV testing, products for reproductive health, cancer screening, etc. It was a massive success, and the ability to use music to together communities is commendable.

Lake Bunyonyi covers nearly 175 square km of southwestern Uganda near the Rwandan border at an altitude of 1,962 m, home to 29 islands, and surrounded by mountains on all sides.

What are the cultural and societal factors that prevent a stronger women's presence at the concert? How does the empowerment of the genders increase the effectiveness of destigmatizing HIV/AIDS?

From this survey, we hope to be able to provide data informing a plan of outreach through further GLI efforts with trusted groups in the Lake Bunyonyi region to increase the role of parents in formulating their children’s educational success.

The focus of this paper is on replicating a successful Bottle-to-Bottle recycling plant that currently exists in South Africa.
